Maize Valley Winery Beltane/Celtic Fest

Maize Valley Winery Beltane/Celtic Fest

Yesterday’s weather couldn’t have been any nicer for Maize Valley Winery’s annual Beltane/Celtic Fest, and if you were in the mood for some relaxed local color served with delicious food (from the Winery’s eatery), you definitely would have found yourself in the perfect spot there on the Farm.

The Beltane Fest featured Highlands-style gaming for kids and adults alike (most of which involved heaving, in one form or another), Irish dancers, pipers, fiddlers and spinners of yarn – both real and storied.

I love it when folks are generous enough to share what lights them up, so what I most enjoyed about the event is the pure passion that participants brought to the day, whether they were sharing historical information from a tent or teaching the “laymen” how to Irish dance in the most-welcomed shade.

Call it our gorwn-up sense of play, passion is what makes us – and the things we stumble across – interesting. For me, it hardly matters what sort of passion I’m lucky enough to discover; the fact that it is there, energizing the world around us is something to celebrate, and celebration in abundance was the feature of the day at the Winery!!

Excellent pictures, Kami! And I’m not just saying that because you have me featured in the second big image! ;-)

Thanks, Kevin! It was a great day. Now, which one are you in these pics??!
