Kent Easter Egg Hunt, 2011

Kent Parks and Rec: Egg Hunt 2011

Mother Nature cut Kent a long-overdue break last Saturday when the weather warmed just in time for the Kent Park and Rec’s annual Easter Egg Hunt in Fred Fuller Park. While I didn’t do a head count, the event brimmed with local kids eager to take to one of four age-bracketed field arenas.

If you’re an Angry Birds fan, you’ll understand what I mean when I say the kids leveled up on the first try, snapping up the colorful plastic eggs with a 3-star showing. Before and afterward, miniature residents savored a few moments with the blue-eyed Bunny, who arrived on one of Kent’s famous fire trucks.

What follows is a small selection of images taken from the event, where student designers riffed on the construction theme in an earthy twist on haute couture.
